I’m an entrepreneur, engineer, board member, investor & speaker
who believes deeply in the power of connection
Hi. I'm Avery. I built an organization that has physically connected over 1.4 million rural people with education, healthcare & job opportunities. I am passionate about getting more women and under-represented minorities into STEM fields, and civil engineering in particular. When not on a plane, public speaking or renovating houses, the mountains are my playground.
Bridges
Find out about Bridges to Prosperity, and the impact of connecting rural last mile communities.
Dream Big
Inspiring young women and under represented minorities to pursue STEM careers, in particular engineering, is another point of passion. I was part of an IMAX film to do just that.
traveler & advocate
I love entrepreneurs and supporting the greater ecosystem of game-changers. At the Mulago Foundation, I lead the team responsible for finding and accelerating social entrepreneurs tackling the world’s most pressing climate, conservation and poverty problems.
While completing my MBA at Säid Business School at the University of Oxford, I was selected to act as the Managing Director of the Oxford Seed Fund, an early-stage funder for Oxford-led startups. I also lead the team that was responsible for screening applicants for the Skoll Venture Awards. If you're an early-stage entrepreneur with a great idea (and have an Oxford student, faculty or alumni founder), definitely hit me up and I'll connect you with the current leadership.
More generally, I'm always up for a great conversation. Get in touch.
